Beautiful looks great what model eotech did you get

I just received my m4 yesterday and ordered a EOTECH MODEL 551
for it today will add a magnifier for it down the road,

the m4 I bought i had them just do the gas block so need some iron sites
put on for back up

What kind of sites do you have on your rifle need a nice pair of fold down

hey meat, i've gor the ARMS 40L sights on there:

they're nice because you can switch between large and small aperature depending upon your target.

my EO is the 512 base model (had to save some money for PMs). i'm also considering a magnifier for the EOTech.

the new cheaperthandirt catalog has the Mako 3x and 5x magnifiers on sale for $99 and $119. not sure how these measure up to the EOTech ones, but they're considerably cheaper.

I just bought the 5X Mako to try out with my Eotech and other red dots. I really didn't like having the dot magnified and don't anticipate using it.

The optical quality was good. I didn't like having the red dot at the center magnified 5 times. The Eotech has a small dot so it was not as bad as the other sight which already had a larger dot. It's like having a scope with a fat crosshair.

For planning, from the front magnifier to the back of it's mount is 2 3/8ths inches, when the mount is all the way forward.

Consider a quick release on both the eotech and a scope

It's a red dot sight for quick target placement. You don't have to shut one eye when aiming. Depending on what model and were and when you buy it they are $ 3-5 hundred

Do you use the front end post with it?

What kind of batteries does it use?

Can you show us what the red dot look like?

How accurate is it good to? 300 yards?

Is it mainly for close quarter combat?

Either way daddy wants the shiney toy...

you don't use the front post. it's holographic, so you don't need to be aiming 'dead on' with it. if you can put the reticle over the target (by looking from any angle) you can hit it.

it's also supposed to be functional if it cracks. you can apparently shatter/break it, and it will still work. hopefully i don't have to find out if that is true.

2 double AAs

haven't shot with it yet, so i can't vouch for the accuracy part, but i would imagine it's for 200 yards or under (swat type scenarios).

i paid $0.00 for it. used my cabela's card points :biggrin:
